Precision Diabetes and DirectSens Partner to Launch MetMark™ AHB Test in the U.S.

DirectSens and Precision Diabetes, Inc. (PDI) have entered a strategic commercialization partnership to bring MetMark™, a clinical test based on alpha-hydroxybutyrate (AHB, 2-HB), to the U.S. market.
The collaboration combines PDI’s expertise in diabetes diagnostics and AHB-based clinical applications with DirectSens’ XpressGT® enzymatic assay technology, enabling quantitative AHB measurement on routine clinical chemistry analyzers.
The partnership follows new clinical research demonstrating that elevated AHB levels are associated with increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes years before diagnosis and can reveal metabolic abnormalities that may not be detected by conventional glucose-based testing alone.
This partnership represents an important step toward making advanced metabolic biomarkers accessible through routine laboratory workflows and supporting earlier identification of individuals at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
